Federation Wing Tsun System

Federation Wing Tsun System

The Federation Wing Tsun System is the first of our two primary martial arts. It has been developed over two decades by Sifu Lee Paul Heron from the original southern Chinese style of Wing Chun Kung-Fu.

His unique system is built upon correct weapons concepts, classical five-element theory, and three general strategies called Evasion, Engagement & Attack, all taught right from the start.

Federation Wing Tsun is far more dynamic and mobile than all other so-called 'traditional' or 'modified' versions of Wing Chun. We feel the system is a long-overdue return to how this beautiful art was first conceived, applying weapons principles to the entire body during unarmed combat.

Origin & Development

The Federation Wing Tsun System is a relatively new approach to the art of Wing Chun Kung-Fu. It is not a re-branded version of any existing method, but rather a complete new system in it's own right.

Of course our approach did not just appear overnight. After almost 20 years of studying many differing versions of the art we came to the conclusion that a fresh start was required. We chose to apply our knowledge & start over, just as a designer always uses accumulated skills, but begins each new project on a fresh sheet of paper.

Starting right from first principles we have gradually deconstructed and painstakingly rebuilt the entire art, which was made easier due to the fact we were not bound by the politics of any existing organisation and were not interested in maintaining rank or status, or preserving tradition for its own sake.

In developing the Federation System we have carefully considered historical facts, correct weapons concepts, natural body mechanics, military strategy, classical philosophy and existing practice. We continue to test our findings on a daily basis, always hoping to find a better way.
