Body Dynamics

A healthy mind in a healthy body is an essential part of a good life & good martial arts. We offer many ways to help our members improve & maintain their health, including one-on-one Personal Training, regular workshops on Functional Fitness, tutorials on our own specially-developed style of Chi-Kung, and even professional advice on Diet & Nutrition too.

 

We believe that a balanced, toned, relaxed body is far more important & desirable than extremes of strength or flexibility.

 

As the name is intended to suggest, Body Dynamics refers the human body in motion. Through our martial arts training, we are taught how to use our bodies correctly, through the linking structure, movement and breathe. When looking at Functional Fitness, we use the knowledge gained though our arts and apply it to the activity we are currently engaging in.

 

Using the body as a whole unit will achieve maximum efficiency and performance. Whether you are training a martial art, cycling a bike, swimming or competing in any form of sport, the correct use of your entire body will ensure a lower risk of injury and superior results. Additionally, and most importantly, it will improve your overall health and longevity.

This is the main hub for all information regarding Health & Fitness as taught by the SA Kung-Fu Federation. We offer many different kinds of personal or small-group instruction in numerous areas of this wide field, and can provide expert training for all levels of fitness and nutrition. Personal Fitness Training

 

We offer one-to-one or small-group tuition covering all aspects of fitness training. If you've had enough of paying money to a faceless gym or health club why not see how our affordable sessions can really benefit you. Our training programmes can show you how to rebalance your body and discover how practical, everyday wellness is not necessarily about bulging muscles, buckets of sweat & pain.

Chi-Kung

 

Our specially designed Chi-Kung programmes give you simple, easy-to-remember movement patterns which will stretch, strengthen & tone the entire body. When coupled with correct breathing, these movements allow a complete, balanced workout just using your own bodyweight and a few square metres of space.

 

Functional Fitness

 

We offer regular in-depth tutorials covering various pieces of fitness equipment such as Swiss Balls, Medicine Balls or Resistance Elastics and training methods such as Plyometrics or Core Stability to help you really understand how & why these things work. Learn about the physics & biomechanics of correct exercise, and see how your body responds to it.

Getting Started

 

As the name suggests, personal fitness training is all about your personal needs. If you want to improve your health & quality of life it really helps to have someone beside you to provide the answers and that all-important motivation. We'll sit down with you to discuss your goals and find out about your current health situation. Then we'll explain our approach and tailor a bespoke training programme to your needs. You'll have plenty of opportunities to ask questions and discover what's involved. Finally all that remains is for us to start working with you to reach your goal. You can do it!
The procedure for each new personal training client is as follows;

  2. Free informal consultation session at our Somerset West HQ
    • - We discover your own goals
    • - We explain & discuss our approach towards realising your goals
    • - You complete a simple Health & Fitness questionnaire to help us choose the best way to help you
    • - We create a bespoke fitness programme for you
    • - We agree a fixed number of training sessions & the total price
  3. Start your training programme at the agreed time.
